To you larger 737 pilots

To anyone to operate the 737-800 or -900, a quick question:

Do you ever hear buzzsaw while cruising if the aircraft is heavy? I was wondering, if the N1 is 92 or 93% at cruise, will you still hear...

Southwest Smash Landing and B737 Spoiler?

Hey Guys,

My friend was trying to convince me that Southwest purposely lands at 200-300 FP/M just to smooth the roll out. He also said that if you land to smooth, the spoilers won't deploy. Is...

I am not sure we are talking about the same thing. I don't mean putting the starters to GND continously, I mean literally putting the switch to the CONT setting. I've seen this done on real 737's...

Starters on continous and speed bugs

Two more questions:

What are "speed bugs" on the 737 series airplanes? I understand the correct use and application of autothrottle, but I'm not sure what speed bugs are.

Also, at what stage in...

Quick questions,

What are the minimums for a CAT II and CAT III ILS approach? What about visual?

Also, what about altitude (50, 40, etc) should the throttle be brought back to idle...

Also, what...

Thanks for the idea, that was close to what I was doing, I was just having trouble keeping the thing airborne. I suppose if that happened I should turn off the Yaw Damper to get more control!
