Garmin warranties are two years for dash mounted units and one year for handhelds if purchased in Australia. If purchased overseas, you'll have to send them back to the country of purchase.

The Garmin 196/296 are obsolete models now and I believe the Aera 510 hasn't been released in Australia. I'm not sure if it will be. Any Garmin GPS purchased overseas will not have their warranty...
