Think Bose-x is on the right track: Mine is a ye olde non-JAR pure UK CAA PPL issued in 1999, and could be a bit fussy as regards signatures...

Question for any Irish pilots holding the above UK national PPL (ICAO on the cover) license, issued up to, I think, 2001:

Have any of you tried to get a UK-issued JAA PPL(A)?
