Question Sold on SE2/SkyDemon/Bluetooth

I'm amazingly happy with current setup that bluetooths SE2 to Skydemon (with extra subscription to pick up FLARM too), and gives me verbal warnings to my headset.

Thumbs up Now you can transmit ADS-B out on your Skyecho2

NATS have issued AIC Y 141/2019 allowing EASA aircraft (in UK) to transmit ADSB-out on portable devices, even if you already have Mode S, providing you also mail them with the info requested at the...

Compass is definitely good. DI has too much precession needing regular adjustment and sometimes decides to rotate quite quickly. Reset it and it behaves for a reasonable period.......

A & C

Thanks for that. I've a recent GTX328 so no GPS source there, and unlikely to change as so recent. I've also gone SkyEcho 2 for traffic, but the gps on that goes to Skydemon via bluetooth, so that...

Thanks for all advice, and now another query!

Yes, I'm coming round to overhauled or new replacements for the vacuum pair. Depite loving instrument flying, I've only managed 160 hours of real instrument time (over 34 years!), and with everything...

Good Advice

Thanks A and C. I'm still in a quandary - because the rest of my 172 is so simple (no autopilot, no GTN device etc), I still can't see the advantage of the HSI function - effectively I'd just have a...

I'm a 172 owner, but regularly fly in my buddy's Arrow. The 172 has to be the cheapest option because everything is fixed and welded - any aircraft with wobbly prop and retractable must cost more to...

I used to travel all over the world, and always wanted to get time in wherever I was visiting. Simple way was just to go with an instructor. I'd do all the flying and there was no need for paperwork....

Thanks for comments so far. I think I'll need to do it, because of recent problems AH "leaning" and DI deciding to suddenly spin of own accord. Had suction checked and not that, so maybe age is...

Has anyone gone dual G5s (in certified aircraft in UK) and lots of related questions.

Might be time for me to upgrade, as old instruments are getting past it. If anyone has gone dual G5s I'd appreciate info. What was complete cost including necessary extras? Where did you have it done...

Never done it here, but at Rochester we have a Husky on floats (appropriately registered G-WATR), that trains would-be float pilots. Whilst Rochester (EGTO) is dry land (except in bad winters), they...

Total Agreement - doesn't work for private owners

The numbers quoted confirm that for a private owner, there is no worthwhile saving. I looked at all this when changing engines and just the cost of installation was unrecoverable for a regular...

Arrow probably isn't ELA1?

ELA1 is usually non-complex and 1200kg and below, to be able to apply the MIP/SDMP programme. I'm pretty certain Arrows dont come into this (my buddy's is 1202kg). Is therefore ELA2, so at present...
