Had two engine failures in about a 120 flights as passenger. Both DC10.
One (NWA) out of Gatwick about 1994 just after getting airborne. Hell of a bang followed by much vibration. Never climbed...

I would have thought that the most experienced and qualified pilot would always be P1 assuming they are both sitting at the controls.
