what is the given notice for standby? A few days in advance or only a couple of hours? In my previous experience it was 18 hours before flight.

I'm a new recruit to BA, but unfortunately I will be based at LGW. And as I will commute to and from Paris, this is not that convenient. Any ideas on how long I can be transferred to LHR?...
