what is the definition of a “straight in approach”? I saw somewhere that this is around 3degrees of centerline. Is that correct? Does that mean you shouldn’t do an IAN on an OFFSET approach?

Right, i guess its a company variable. We encourage arming both APs on all ILSs we are a Cat 1 airline. Yeah saw the AT disconnect later on, I agree with u on that.

Not true, even on Cat 1, you can arm BOTH autopilots on approach which in turn would give an autopilot go around if required.

B737NG area of operation

Just curious what different airlines use for the 60 minute circles during cruise. We use 424 on -700 and 430nm on -800. They used .79/330 which I thought was ambitious to come up with the 1 hour...

Boeing FCTM says LRC provides 1% less fuel mileage than MRC. And read this on the Boeing Aero Mag, that on DESC, Speed on FMC is given as M.XX/250 which equates to L/D Max approximately.

It should be the other way around...ie with left...

It should be the other way around...ie with left pack off, the left N1 should be lower. This is because a slightly higher N1 is required to sustain the airplane and the bleed air/pneumatics etc.

I remember reading somewhere on B737NG FCTM which gives you the option of either LRC or CI30. Not sure if they meant that they could be pretty close the two.. :confused:
