Q400s in Africa

ASKY operates Q400s. Togo is relatively nice for West Africa. Airline seems to be doing well.

schedules are in the system

DN's schedules are in the system already, so they must be ready to go, although I have heard they might have problems getting rights to ABJ.

ASKY probably a better bet than ARIK

B737NGFO:
I don't think working at ARIK is the best idea, but I'm sure ASKY is looking for pilots, both for 737NG and Q400. Togo is a very nice place.

ASKY looking for Q400 pilots?

Just flew ASKY yesterday on their ET Q400 and staff mentioned that ASKY is looking for their own Q400 crew. Maybe this is an opportunity for ARIK pilots to jump ship.

Easy to find jobs elsewhere

If it is easy for ARIK pilots to find jobs elsewhere, pardon me for being naive but why would ARIK expat pilots stay?

ET/ASKY expanding?

I know that ET and ASKY are both expanding, and that they are looking for pilots. I would bet that things are better in Addis or Lome than in Lagos. At least one would get paid on time.

ASKY?

ASKY is flying new jets - maybe they have an opening? And Togo is a nice place in West Africa.

777 plans?

Does 9W have any plans for their 777-300ERs, or are they just trying to get rid of them? Will all 10 end up back with them?

I thought the bilateral was the issue, not the slots. I believe EK has the rights to 14 frequencies to SA, and they use all 14 to JNB.

transatlantic

Yes, Transatlantic was that airline that abandonned so many passengers a few years back.
They apparently worked with a consulting firm to get things going again, but it fell apart.

Re: Thanks Ethiopian Airlines

I'm sorry to tell you this, but Ethiopian uses old 757s on this route. You should try to switch to depart from FRA instead, where new 763s are used.
