you may try Airwork Flight Operations in Auckland who operate a few metroliners

a few years back they did accept non-company pilots for training

I don't think they hire any expat for 744 pilots....they have just two 744Fs after all.....

It's a good company, imho, it's the best among Chinese (Mainland) airlines.
