Post Runway sweeping at LGW

BOAC, all I can add to your query is what I know about 8U operations.
They operate the A330 on the TIP/JNB sector and then use the A320 fleet to feed from / to EU airports. Occasionally, the A330...

sita

Hi Ljupcho.
This depends on what you are after.
SITA provides a lot of software for a lot of different purposes. Are you Flight Ops? Dispatch or Ops Control? Maybe Crew? Cargo? Reservations?...

wake turbulence

I could understand this post if it were an A319 following at B777 heavy, but a 738 and 752 are about 20,000kgs different in the max landing wt. With correct separation it is not an issue.

Sob / Pob

My apologies.
It was a slip of the keystroke - thinking Souls on Board - I guess it's an old term and doesn't really relate to POB - my mistake - hands up - sorry - sorry - sorry

Does it help us...

crew fatalities

The loss of the 3 FD crew and 6 other SOB losses are sad, but the investigation will centre on why the aircraft crashed first and foremost. The fatalities are results of the crash, and lessons will...

fuel discrapancy

Backpacker - Wow - that's a lot of fuel, but of course, I did a generalisation based on weather and best route. Without knowing the actual route flown, and therefore the wx en-route, and TOW, engine...

tragedy in EHAM / AMS

I'm responding to one post talking specifically about fuel starvation.
It is highly unlikely, although not impossible, that fuel starvation is an issue. If fuel was starved because of a fuel leak,...

Question no fire

No fire doesn't necessarily indicate no fuel - it is fuel vapour that catches fire and empty tanks can still contain vapour.

It is, however, very odd albeit miraculous that the aircraft lost an...

GraFlite

Hi Techie FP
I've found your post about GraFlite - it is a rather old post, but like I say, I've only just found it.
If you are a customer of SITA Flight Briefing Services, which GraFlite connects...

Angry Flt Deck FAM Flts

I agree with the concept of FAM flts, and have taken part in a number of them over the years. My work involves Flt Ops, Dispatch, Ops Control, Navigation, Avionics, Fuel, Payload, Communications and...
