FCOM Changes

Hey !



When I started on the A320 eight years ago we had FCOM 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Then it changed to FCOM 1 GEN DSC, FCOM 2 PRO, FCOM 3 LIM OEB FCB PER.

And now it's FCOM 1 GEN, FCOM 2 DSC,...

Im updating my private flightbag, and apparently Airbus decided to change the chapters of the FCOMs again. How long has the A320 been in operation now, about 30 years? And still the guys at Airbus...

Strange

If the transponder stopped transmitting, ATC is always quick to let you know. Nothing was said from ATC about this, not even when handed over to Vietnam Control :rolleyes:

The message on the MCDU in cruise was " CHECK IR1(2)(3)/ FM POS" All of the IRS on the MCDU showed 5+ and increasing.

Thanks for your answers.

All of the IRs showed a drift that was well above the normal levels according to FCOM.
Never did a RAIM check but had GPS Primary all the time ( flying in Europe )

I had a couple of flights on the same A320 with IR1 IR2 and IR3 drifting way more than normal, all at the same time and with the same amount.
Position check was OK.

ATC at LEBL

With fog or CBs at LEBL, the biggest problem is the ATC. They just dont know how to manage the sitution in a safe and effective way. My advise is to put some extra fuel in your pocket and be prepared...

Not perfect in Spain

Airbus procedure

Check FCOM PER-LOD-FUL. It describes REFUELING WITH ONE ENGINE RUNNING and includes disembarking of pax with one engine running.

Extra fuel

On an average leg on a short haul flight, the extra fuel carried does not make any difference. Ask ATC for a shortcut or make a good TOD so you don´t have to use speed brakes is a better way to save...
