i am for GRADUAL increase from 60 to 6...; eg for now untill 63 for 4 years (not retroactive) and then up to 65 or whichever age all provided...

I am not working in my country but in a "steady" company now (for what it's worth nowadays) and in the last 5 years I have been travelling allover to keep my job. As 60 is still the rule so far...

And yes, I was young and eager once, could not wait for the first proper job and did pay my dues. Today there are much much more jobs available for pilots than there were thirty or forty years...

Completely agree with you jon:in extreme adverse conditions (poor braking action, snow...) you can use reverse thrust at speeds less then taxi speeds and more interesting yet as you say on slippery...

BOAC: taxi speeds are not more then 20 kts.

At 10 kts it doesn't take a lot of braking energy to stop the AC with brakes if you are not in the grass emergency yet...If it really is an emergency...
