Is the award you talk of the 'Regional Airlines Pilots Award' as on the AFAP website? Sorry, I'm from NZ and things are done slightly different over here.

So why is it they are after Saab captains...

Yep, its always worth a shot.
They are still after 1500 TT and 500 Multi, but your pretty close so get an application in.
Although I don't think there are any more interviews planned for the rest...

I got an email saying they'd recieved my application and would be interviewing in a couple of weeks. That was at least a month or so ago.

No time on either type.
