Question M@cair Recruitment

Hey, I see M@cair are looking for Saab drivers.

Anyone able to comment on what the company is like to work for and the conditions? Pay, rosters, time off, time to command.. and all that other good stuff we want to know when we thinking about moving.

Cheers

Pay and time off as per the award. Allowances similar to award if not better. Rosters are joke. Command on the Saab will not happen. Metro command very quick. Overall good company to work for.

Is the award you talk of the 'Regional Airlines Pilots Award' as on the AFAP website? Sorry, I'm from NZ and things are done slightly different over here.

So why is it they are after Saab captains on a six month contract? do they not upgrade their own?

Do you move from a Saab F/O to a metro captain? or will you be stuck as a Saab F/O for ages? I have Saab time, and not really interested in going back to the metro.

cheers

M@cair have an EBA, or enterprise bargaining agreement so it will be slightly different to the award.

Prehaps contract Captains being used to fill a short term gap caused by people leaving and no current suitable candidates from within. ie mine contracts specify minimum total/on type time usually well in excess of the regs.

Research Townsville as a place to live first, very hot and humid in summer. Some like it, others don't.

Little variety on the SAAB as well, you will be very familiar with Mount Isa and a few mines in the area.

M@cair and Multi

Do they require 500 multi for copilots? if not how to the copilots get to the left seat?
Can a copilots experience count toward this command time?

Cheers

Snoop

Not that I have one. But how would one best prepare for an interview with a regional like ******?

I'm interested in hearing from current or past employees who have been through this process.

Cheers
