QA role

Dear all,
I am planning to enter into the quality assurance and quality auditing within my airline and after some research I am planning to attend AQS training course for quality auditor!
However I dont know much about this role and what are the implications...
I've been covering a position mainly in the ops department and changing to this new job intrigues me. Can someone tell me something about AQS and the courses they do? and also if in a long term this role would pay well in terms of career and job opportunity.
Tks for your posts
