Lessons learned from volcano ash crisis?

Nice write-up here from a high-level Royal Aeronautical Society conference on the volcano ash shutdown of 2010

So in the future - more satellite predictions, possible use of UAVs to check airspace?

NB: Also a interesting titbit that Met Office is to get a 'Civil Contingencies Aircraft' in March.... (getting ready for 2012 maybe? )
