Quantifying Safety Benefits - New Avionics
I am performing some research concerning competition in Avionics, and the two most significant reasons for introducing new avionics is cost-saving (precision routing, improved frequencies) or safety (reduced pilot workload, situational awareness).
It is possible to model the revenue benefits of improved frequencies and better routings, but how does one quantify the safety benefits of new equipment in financial terms ?
Does anyone have insight into how insurers for example will modify their insurance quote following the introduction of a head-up display in a corporate aircraft ?
Thanks in advance for any pointers or input.
