Does AP & FSP Manager replace FSO??

A recent addition to the post-holders on our A.O.C. (Ireland) is the Accident Prevention and Flight Safety Programme Manager. Responsible for the SMS, his duties seem to include all those of the Flight Safety Officer and more besides.

Is the FSO now replaced by the AP & FSP Mgr?

If Someone knows for sure, then I would also like to!!

Best regards..... You just know..

In most cases the FSO might work for the AP&FSM, but in my experience few FSOs would be capable of a serious management role.
