Does LOT have any limitations at all?

Hi,

A few days ago, I was enroute CPH-GDN. Wx at GDN were;

08017G24 and BKN003. Since there is approaches to RWY 29 only, this Wx reqired Circling. Our ceiling requirement is 660' Therefore we had to divert to WAW.

After offloading pax at WAW. We were ordered by operations to have another go at GDN.

Inbound GDN again, Wx were pretty much the same; 08017G22
BKN005.

But this time we were not alone inbound to GDN. a LOT ATR-42 were a few miles ahead of us. They did land straight in with a tailwind component of around 20kts!!!

This is not the first time LOT is bending rules when landing in Gdansk.
They have several times landed with a RVR well below 550m.

What is the ATR-42's max tailwindcomp?

Does anyone know if LOT does have any limitations to their operations at all?

We diverted to CPH.

According to ATR-42 FCOM, chapter 2.01.03, page 8, maximum tailwind limit for take-off and landing is 15kt.

And no, I don't think LOT or any other airline can override it.

surface wind 18017 would appear to give a tailwind comp of 15kts which is on the limit, but you would need the reported tdz wv at the time of landing to be able to judge whether a limit was exceded
