Cont. non-adherence to SOP's and FOM Regs
Here is one where i really appreciate your help. Imagine a small company, dba as executive operator. In the FOM - safety, safety, safety. The Flight Ops Mgr. dosn't really care what he has approved and written down in the FOM. He is further absolutely overloaded with his position and responsibility. The communication between himself and crews is marginal. It has come to my ears that copilots prefer being silent instead of asking him about his intentions during a flight. Reason why, because he just yells at everybody who questions his decisions, etc. He shows a real lack of CRM and what bothers me even more is that he puts pressure on other pilots because they decide otherwise (mainly due to safety reasons) and question him. Everybody who has questioned him so far left the company. He approves and operates procedures, maneuvers and other things with these aircraft which are far away from safe operation. In my opinion, its only a question of time until something happens. He is a good storyteller and saves his skin any time the management comes up. Management now starts getting a picture about this guy but not enough to remove him from the company. I am not in the mood to sit and wait until something bad happens but others have already become used to it and just accept the way it is.
