Who is hammering on the FMS in your AIRBUSes during flight? The PF or the PNF?

PNF = Pilot Not Flying
PF = Pilot Flying

If both are grapping the FMS to find out who is faster, neither is actually flying the ship.

I think that was a joke, the PNF generally does what is asked of him on the box during flight. If the PF wants to set up something involved (a nice picture to base a visual on or an unstored instrument approach) then he asks PNF to 'mind the ship' or even formally hands over control.

As with many things discipline helps and yes, two heads down is bad and you see problems arise due to it in the sim especially but it is avoidable and not specific to the Airbus.

Yes, I agree. Would be interesting what the SOP of different companys are. That's what my question was for.
