Thats the standard route at the moment for a lot of carriers. With all the issues in Africa it must be making life difficult / busy for Egyptian ATC, as anything routing to Eastern Africa is going that way as well due to issues in Algeria and central Sahara areas. Cheers Mr Mac |
I pax DXBLGW and vv often and don't remember ever going over Egypt before. It's always down the Gulf, over Iraq, over the Black Sea etc.

There is only a limited amount of things you can do in the back of an A380 when you don’t fancy the movies. Seriously, the only reason I posted my first comment on this thread is because I felt, rightly or wrongly, that posts were suggesting that EK were maybe not making as much of an effort to avoid certain airspace as some other carriers.
