Shambles from Day 1

Seems very sudden, I didn’t hear any murmurs of this on the grapevine.

How much will the hedge fund that created Flybe#2 be able to sell the assets and slots for. Will they make a profit overall?

Very sudden, they were making new job offers only this week for March and April start dates

Virgin Atlantic I believe are recruiting. A350 fleet running on overtime. Although of course to crew a two pilot LH aircraft needs experienced candidates.

Who on Earth writes this garbage without first doing some homework and investigation? A quick scan of 'Planespotters' will show that at least 6 aircraft have been moved on to other operators and another tranche (of the original 54 no-less) are being turned into Water Bombers!

"Flybe staff said they were informed the delays were down to the aircraft requiring “significant repair work” after they had been recovered from the original Flybe collapse in 2020. Delays were made worse by replacement parts’ supply chain problems lengthening the time it took finish repairs, they were told."

Yep, blame the lessors and Maintenance - easy target. Lets face it, up against EZE and RYR with a superior product with the same overheads the business model doesn't make sense.

Such a shame for the guys and girls going through this all again.

I don’t know why it’s made the news in Australia, however it seems that the Administrators are applying to start the airline again.

Also it no longer makes sense to fly most domestic routes. I gave up on the BA Man-Lhr route whilst I a small advantage of working for BA. The airport and baggage, even hand baggage, experience was dreadful. Arriving 2 hours prior to a scheduled 40 minute flight also makes little sense. With planning I often booked first class on the train for a similar price, and had a much better experience.

I also hold 'us' the public in contempt for wanting everyyhing for next to nothing and believing that certain low cost carriers provide as such.

I think it's just the administrator protecting their valuable slots which are at risk without an Operating Certificate.

It is true that UK internal flights have been ruined by a series of internal own goals, not least by making BA domestics at Heathrow (which is still far and away the most significant domestic flow) share all the time consuming security and terminal walking with pax for Athens or Atlanta (some of us remember the old quick-progress specific domestic side of Terminal 1), and likewise dumping the whole domestic flight plan whenever there are flow restrictions at Heathrow in favour of all six of the wintertime half-filled flights to JFK being fully maintained.

The public don't want air travel for "next to nothing", this is only an excuse by those whose aviation employers squander their resource in various ways, such as selling a seat next to you at a quarter of the price you have paid. How annoying that is when you chat and find out.

Goodness me I forgot about that old route, whilst it used to queue quite a bit it always moved quickly and the staff were always very friendly.

Assume it was the fact that the passengers were regulars and knew what they were doing.

Always liked the old BMI lounge; filled my pockets with Lindt chocolates to give the family when I got home!
