Trying to make sense of that, was it doing a parachute drop ?

Impression that I got it was just a troop transport mission, so not a jump. But could mean they lowered the ramp for example at some point.

There is no information about using the forward door.

Dont know, but is there a gravity drop mechanism for the ramp that can be used in emergencies?

How is this sort of thing still happening, after all the training, the CRM, the study of previous accidents, the exams, etc?

Sometimes, all the holes in the cheese line up together and after a series of unfortunate events accidents happen...

Google maps eyeball of the Jolo runway lenght is close to 6000 feet. Should be plenty for a C130 even for normal pilot skills. The photos show, that they did an extreme overrun past the quarry, so my bet is, that they did not touch down even mid runway. Is there a FDR on those C130?

Very fast and flat approach, with a heavy perhaps overweight aircraft.

Can a C130 expert check on the last video? Looks for me, that they did not land with full flaps.

Runway 27/09 is given as 1500m by 'Airports' app.

Jolo Island is a major base for Abu Sayyaf Islamic rebels and just about qualifies as a war zone, given the level of the insurgency. Hostile action, such as enemy fire would need to be included in the possible cause list.

It looks like a classic unstabalized approach: not fully configured, too fast, lands hard possibly bursting tires and runs out of runway. That approach should have been thrown away long before they crossed the fence.

Technical problems with the aircraft may have been a factor, I'd want to know how they got into that situation in the first place and why they didn't go around.

Fear of losing face is all too common in Asia, CRM could be difficult if a senior officer was Captain and the PF. He won't want to have doubt cast on his abilities by being unable to land and a junior co pilot would be very reluctant to question him.
