things like that are the primary reason the flight manuals forbid a GA after the reverse thrust had been deployed....you gotta make damn sure that you are¡¡¡NOT!!! gonna go around after you pull the reversers

If you come over the threshold at Vref at 50' or below on a 3 deg glide angel with the throttles at idle just like the AFM describes then most of the time you will not need TR. If you do use them then you should unlock them first, check you have both sides unlocked before selecting any power. Simple basic procedure and one which in this case might well have led to a normal landing or go around.
