Singapore 787-10 Rolls Royce Engine Problems
 
It would seem that Rolls Royce 787-10 Engines are suffering from a similar Problem to the Smaller 787"s

Its reported in a you tube clip by DJ's Aviation that 2 of the SQ fleet of 787-10 aircraft have been grounded following routine inspection, the rest (7 I gather) remain operational
No doubt there will be further speculation and comment

i had a link i wanted to post but fella fowl of being a rare poster and not posting more than 9 out of 10n times i cant post it but it would seem quite a few more have been grounded. from the

The list at 12pm Singapore Time on 2nd April 2019, according to FlightRadar24, now includes:
  • 9V-SCA: On ground in Singapore since 31st March / 11.38pm
  • 9V-SCB: On ground in Singapore since 1st April / 3.13pm
  • 9V-SCC: On ground in Singapore since 28th March / 11.57pm
  • 9V-SCD: On ground in Singapore since 30th March / 8.16pm
  • 9V-SCE: On ground in Singapore since 1st April / 12.42am
  • 9V-SCF: On ground in Singapore since 1st April / 4.49pm
Today’s ‘787’ flights (2nd April)

Seven of the 13 Singapore Airlines departures from Changi that were supposed to operate on the Boeing 787-10 today have been changed to either the Airbus A330 or Boeing 777-200.
  • SQ656 (0120 to FUK). Operated by A330
  • SQ672 (0120 to NGO). Operated by A330
  • SQ618 (0125 to KIX). Operated by 787-10 (9V-SCI)
  • SQ876 (0820 to TPE). Operated by A330
  • SQ942 (0915 to DPS). Operated by 787-10 (9V-SCG)
  • SQ622 (1355 to KIX). To be operated by A330
  • SQ872 (1430 to HKG). To be operated by 777-200
  • SQ186 (1725 to SGN). To be operated by 787-10
  • SQ982 (1730 to BKK). To be operated by 787-10
  • SQ978 (1830 to BKK). To be operated by 787-10
  • SQ215 (1845 to PER). To be operated by A330

Singapore Airlines has grounded over half its Boeing 787-10 fleet

Its starting to get a bit ridiculous with all the early failures and groundings of aircraft due to them being pushed into service too early and with insufficient testing, all in the name of profits...

At this rate airlines are going to need to keep a 25% buffer of "spare" aircraft, preferably from a different manufacturer, as an insurance policy, to deal with all the failures.

The same reason why airlines still orders GE after design issues with the Genx on the 787 and 748.... or for that matter cfm and pw with their teething issues on the leap and gtfs...

Presumably fueled up in Cairns. Maybe some of that cyclone water got into the tank farm.

According to the local media, they have grounded 2 aircraft. Others are in for inspection.
I first read this on the children's channel (you know, the one with 'airliners' in its name) yesterday morning and ran through an exercise similar to Mark's above (post #3). I too came up with similar dates/flights for the aircraft but, checking again last night and this morning, found the sky is not falling in. A good example is SQ622, shown in Mark's list as being subbed with an A330. It is at this moment airborne and is being flown by 9V-SCF.
Another example listed above is SQ672. This was flown last night by 9V-SCB, which is now flying the return leg as SQ671.
9V-SCC flew SQ876 to Taipei this morning.

The aircraft was fuelled in New Zealand before it was flown to Cairns to pick up passengers for the onward journey to Osaka on Friday.

The flightglobal article seems not to be accurate. It states that 9V-SCF was one of the affected aircraft. Yet it flew the Osaka service yesterday.
Similarly, the other aircraft mentioned in the report, 9V-SCB is currently flying the Nagoya service.
It does seem that SCD may be affected as it has not flown since 30th March and SCE has not flown since 31st March.

don't reckon one would need much, seeing as how there seem to be endemic problems with their products as of late...
