Dragonair B747 wing and multiple pod strike at MAN
A little bird tells me that a Dragonair 747 had rather a bumpy landing at MAN last night at 0130.
Outcome appears to be that both wings touched the ground and that at least one engine did too, and also resulted in a blown tyre and a short runway closure. |
Full story in the Freight Dogs forum!

least one engine did too try 3! |
So that explains the 747 at the cargo area with all the engine access panels open, sounds expensive !
|
Had a look at the engines a couple of days ago. 1 & 2 have scrape marks along the cowlings, but 4 suffered the most. One engine has to be replaced and the others are having the cowlings replaced...will take a couple of weeks to get the parts delivered and fitted...getting the replacement engine will be the hold up!!
Spoke to a 747 F/O about it and he wouldn't believe that 3 engines struck the runway!! he just said "How is this possible?" |
Replacement engine is already there that's not holding it up. The lack of availablity of nose and fan cowls is the hold up i'm told.

...guess nothing caught on tape if happened at 01:30 !!??

@Mod: next time you delete my post, at least merge the thread into http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=316048, thank you
