Fairly common in Europe now. Generally the consequence of no r/t contact for one reason or another.

Fairly common in Europe now. Generally the consequence of no r/t contact for one reason or another. There are posts which portray the RV8 pilot "evaded Hellenic Air Force" (HAF) ... yeah right ! http://www.avweb.com/eletter/archive...ll.html#189474 and http://www.eaa119.org/ Incidentally I was talking yesterday with one of the two air force pilots who were scrambled to the incident. His words: "... yes we followed the [bad word] all the way to the border with Nicosia FIR (Cyprus) doing orbits 2nm miles behind him since he was so damn slow ... " Funny how they report HAF never found him. There was no intercept, simply a precautionary discrete following of the aircraft until it left Athens FIR. Once again media made a whole fuss about it. This was the Hellenic press agency's report (in Greek) on March 24th regarding the incident. http://www.naftemporiki.gr/news/stat...24/1026961.htm |
