OK Time Out EVerybody !!!
What the is going on here ???
Every page I read from Rumours to Fragrant Harbour is inhabited by Pilots winding up other Pilots !!!
Are we not Professionals ? Do you see Doctors & Lawyers fighting about 'who gets what' & 'my income versus your income' ?
No .........................................................
We all work for different companies with differing mis-Management in various locations on wildly different contracts; its like comparing wine and kool-aid !
Times are tough ! SARS, the Middle East, terrorism ad infinitum is sucker punching our industry. It is bad but look at the bright side........ you have a job, you're feeding your family and you remain current !
If you gotta suffer a bit to keep the career on track, then DO IT !!!
but.................. get the Union to contractualise it so that you can get it back when things pick up !!!
I may sound old fashioned but hey guys and gals ..........
Let us all remain Professional !!!!

Cpt White - I agree with your sentiments, but you are assuming that all the 'professional pilots' who post here are such.
Remember 'the guvnor' and all his aliases (and I will not list others lest they try to 'wind me up' )?
It is part of the 'pageant' that is pprune and like it not, it keeps people looking, reading and posting - which is what it is all about.

Its commonly called sh!t stirring.
In most cases its where you can land a job ,not "who will i work for this year".
Spot on Captain White ,no two companies pay the same.
Also depends on where you live and what currency you get paid in.Anyone living outside the U.S.A and getting paid in Yanky dollars has just accepted a 30% pay cut in the last year or so,in real terms.
The other variables are cost of living and the lerks and perks.
A couple of T-Bones and a carton of amber fluid may vary from $40-$100 or more in different countries(if your allowed to drink)
Another may be rate of taxation.
In the end ,gross income is a load of w@nk--theres more to life than money but it helps.

Bravo!
Mega-Dittos to Cap'n White!
I experienced the same thing on my "end" of Pprune.
Many of the posters love to hide behind their anonymity and lob unsubstantiated accusations and damning aspersions while backing it all up with vague facts. Quite simply, they cast their professionalism to the wind in a fit of emotion. It takes a small man/woman cloaked in anonymity and a computer to clog these boards up with trash.
My suggestion: Don't post anything you wouldn't want to say to someone's face, even if they would never know you from the rest of the crowd. That should at least keep things civil.
To all those who present well thought out presentations or humorous viewpoints, I salute you. Your thoughts are what keep me coming back.

At least a point making sense. I almost never reply on threats as many of them make me laugh. Maybe times changed over the last 20 years, when we first tried to get Any flying job, then tried to be the best at it, and later-if we coud find something-improved ourselves to a better position. Presently I fly for about half the money I used to 2 years ago. But I fly and am happy like I was the last 10000 hrs or so, with 9 type ratings in total. Now the would-be straight in 737 copilots with a 1000 hrs or so find themselves discussing and commenting the whole aviationworld .
I wonder why it is so difficult to find a job and learn to fly afterwards...
