According to Reuters the AN-2's pilot is an airline pilot for Cubana.

The US and Cuba have an agreement dating back to the 1960s by which 'hijacked' aircraft (and unwilling pax) from one country are returned to the other. The An-2 will be back in Cuba shortly.
