Post MD-11 at NAP Italy?

Hello all.

Just a quickie. On my way out of Capo Di Chino (Naples, Italy) today, I couldn’t but help notice an MD-11 (in American colours but with any logo on the tail omitted) in what appeared to be half covered (front) in a fabric coating on the military side(?) of the airfield. Does anyone know the story behind this aircraft?

Just curious. Thanks.

PS: My, those MD-82’s sure are quiet. I though it was just the APU running until I realised we were on the take off roll.... Ahh Mc Donnell Douglas.

It's a FedEx aircraft, they send them to Italy for passenger to freight conversion.
