Birmingham Airport UK - 20 mins closure?

We all accept some tribute to the 9/11 attack was called for today- however could anyone in the Birmingham management team explain why the airport was closed completly for 20 mins today.

The ATIS confirmed the closure as per NOTAMS, however the notams revealed nothing, by contrast nearby East Midlands held a 1 minute silence and asked for sensitive activity during the 1 min period i.e. radio calls/ APU ops etc etc

No doupt the same management team that handled the Challenger crash in Jan are responsible, Image and Spin along with nanny state values.

My airline like most others are still losing money since last year, BHX should be more aware. Will anybody from the Glass house like to comment?

To be fair to BHX I beleive it was the police and/or accident investigators who wouldn't let the airport open again, as they were gathering evidence.
