What do you mean with Swiss is checking personal files of Pilots? Where did you hear about?
I am am working for Swiss on MD-11 and did not hear anything about it!
Maybe Swiss is checking the files of regional pilots within Swiss?
Maybe Swiss is preparing for mid of September to be ready for action, if CCP does not say yes to the B-CWA?
Gruss

Just a question really.
Is there more behind your question other than you have heard that the 'Swiss' Management are checking the personnel files of their pilots?
As a matter of interest, we are constantly checking the files of our pilots, as it helps us liase with them to ensure that licences/medicals/pc's/innoculations, you name it, are fully up to date, so that no-one gets caught out, and that the files are up to date. This ensures a safe and legal operation, and provides a service to our guys, as it helps relieve some of the pressure of paperwork from them, letting them do what they do best....fly!
Just a thought.

I thought only 10% of the captain of ex-crx files are screened for whatever reason. It could be safety related or targeting certain group for redundant in diffrent ways or could be to bring upto swiss standard. Someone should know precisely why they are doing this.

regional pilots within Swiss GGGRRRRR
Not really happy with the term "regional pilots within Swiss".
This screening is a normal job a chief pilot.
Normaly it is done by somebody in the flying departement / safety.
After the "jumbolino" accident of 2001 they have suspicious that a screening of the captain file should had maybe prevent the accident....maybe...
So they are just checking all the captain files.
Why not ? standart chief pilot's job.
In the case of Swiss the only problem should be that this screening is done by an external company and the ex crossair union is not happy with that!
could be understandable !
that's it . no relation with the "regional", "international", "local", "heavy", "longhaul" , "more than 150pax", "swiss", "foreigners","airbus", or whatever distinction you want to put here...
