Attempted Hitchhiking from on the Wing
From the One Mile at a Time blog:
An Azman Air flight this morning from Lagos to Port Harcourt was delayed after the plane gained an extra passenger shortly before takeoff at Murtala Muhammed Airport.
A video shows a man who illegally gained access to the airside jumping on the wing of a Boeing 737 with hand luggage. Allegedly he put his bag into one of the engines, thinking that’s a good place to store it during the flight.
The aircraft was holding short of the runway at the time the incident occurred. As you’d expect, there was commotion in the cabin, and the pilots ended up shutting down the engines, to avoid the man being sucked into one of them.
The man has been arrested following the incident. Allegedly he claimed that he wanted to travel to Ghana, so I’m not sure what exactly his plan was for redirecting the plane to his desired destination.
Here’s the video:

Drain Bamaged
All jokes aside this level of ignorance, lack of education is astonishing! Unless of course he just escaped from a psychiatric yard.
Did he really expected to ride it like a moped!?

Board , then Pay!
Old concept!
People Express in the 1980s.
Just board then pay when you find a free seat.
I did Bruxcelles to New York in 1986.
Mind You we were allowed to use the main enterance.
Ahh
Now I recall: it was a 747 , so naturally the wing was to high for last minute " Runners".
Silly me.
I sometimes ask the Gate agent : " Is boarding complete or do we have any Runners? "
My concept of Runners is of-course towards the Gate, not the Holding Point!
Something New every day.
PS!
A quick improvised Speedbrake Test could solve this problem.
You All have fun now.

Is this a wind up?
If this video timeline is correct he’s only just jumped up onto the Engine as the Aircraft is stopped............if it’s supposed to be Engines running at the holding point why are all the pax standing up as well at that instant? The lady pax standing up nearest the camera isn’t even looking out the window......
Are they sure it wasn’t before they started Engines and moved from the bay?

Some people from less-developed countries don’t quite understand how it all works. Which is understandable, to a degree, and why dead bodies occasionally fall on West London when the gear is lowered for landing at Heathrow.

Something strange about this. I don’t see how someone can climb from the ground up onto the engine. The gear is further back & there isn’t any hand or footholds to assist. Maybe he went out the overwing exit before the bit shown in the video. That may explain why everyone was out of their seats.
