Should BA bite the bullet and go back to the blue fin and speedbird?

Well from me...Yes, it just oozes class. Unlike the current [tail] schemes.

Perhaps the BEA element in the airline might object!

BOAC used the speedbird before BEA was invented.

For sure they did, but anyway I misunderstood the post as suggesting they should go back to calling themselves BOAC. So, as you were

The Speedbird goes back to 1932 and Imperial Airways.
It has an ageless class and it would be nice to see it incorporated in a future colour scheme..

renfrew,

I agree. I very sorry when the speedbird disappeared, not because it was BOAC but because we lost the link with Imperial Airways.

P.S. I tried to delete the previous post but cocked it up!!

Going back to something similar to the BOAC blue tails with the speedbird logo is worth considering. The reaction to the retro 747 seems to have been universally positive and it makes the current BA scheme look cheap and tatty.

Nothing against the Speedbird symbol. But does this look cheap and tatty? In comparison the Landor scheme looks like Aeroflot of the Fifties.
