China Eastern Flight 553, 15/11
China Eastern Airlines Flight 553 (Shanghai - Paris) diverted to Amsterdam today. Passengers kept on board over 4 hours with no info, before aircaft continued to Paris. Passengers bound for Amsterdam not allowed to leave but had to fly to Paris and back to Amsterdam.

Funny thing is, in China they have Tarmac delay procedures as well, even more restrictive then US (3hrs).
In Europe there aren't any procedures (yet?), but it should have been on these guys' minds..
Anyway CDG cat II this morning, possibly cat I due line training? Should have been a nice case to discuss for training

Media here have it that the crew was not cat III qualified and therefore ended up in amsterdam.
