Incident: Blue B738 at Birmingham on Jul 28th 2018, suspected tail scrape on departure

Could it be that some crews are thinking about EU261 claims when assessing the health of their aircraft.
I truly hope this doesn't lead to a tragedy someday.

The B737-800 for TAIL STRIKE states the following:

By continuing the flight (and climbing to altitude), it looks like they failed to follow the QRH... and for which the flightcrew better have a bloody good excuse!

While it's always nice to know what colour the aircraft was, identifying the airline would be more helpful.

I don't see how EU261 compensation should factor into their DODAR

Diagnose - Suspected tail strike (possible structural damage, unable to pressurise, required to land at nearest suitable airport)
Options - Gather info on the best suitable airports based on Fuel>Perf>Weather>Distance>Company Facilities
Decide - Choose best airport based on above.
Action - Inform ATC and request diversion to selected airport, inform crew, pax and company time permitting.
Review....

That's how I would of done it anyway
