I speculate that some turbine parachuting aircraft may be operated in beta range coming down following the jump run.
Indeed, I have watched a Porter doing this to be on the ground and stopped before the first jumper lands. It takes skill but jump pilots get lots of practice.

There have also been beta select issues on the Dash, this one springs to mind. Throttles are usually properly gated along with other mechanisms to prevent such an occurance.

Life news posted a claim that there was a repair campaign in 2016 for all planes built after 2008 concerned propeller control cables.
