Can't remember what they did when told.
Shortly after an apparently (to them) normal takeoff, the crew of the TCX A320 were told by ATC that a wheel had been observed departing the aircraft, with confirmation 10 minutes later that it was the port NW.

The aircraft returned to LGW after holding for a couple of hours to reduce landing weight and a flyby to try to establish the exact condition of the NLG.

Was Chris Gallagher with you when you lost the wheel at Kaduna?
