Air India Bomb Threat

AI 332 landed at VTBS yesterday at 19:10 local time with apparent information
of a bomb threat. Taxied to remote stand then evacuated via slides.

I'm gonna be one of those horrible armchair quarterbacks but having time to make a nice approach and landing, then taxi clear of runway and shutdown barring any other information I'd say an orderly deplaning via forward and aft airstairs would be called for. The potential for injury too great. If the threat was imminent would one not call evac on the runway?

In this situation I would not expect any ground crew to be willing to approach the aircraft with stairs - I don't blame them.

Evacuation may be the only way to get people off.

Years ago at LGW having had a bomb threat. I was unable to get the authorities to bring steps. Got kind of difficult on a VC8.
Sounds as if the Air India Capt did the right thing. No choice really.

Must have been what happened. On another forum a supposed passenger on the flight said they were parked at stand for "10-15 minutes" then suddenly evacuated. As everyone knows remote parking is common at BKK and they have plenty of airstairs.
