KBM says Verba MANPADS now being sold internationally

Not saying this was the cause, but here's a good article on the proliferation of MANPADs.

Of course they would.
Just the same as our lot will say there was no terrorist activity in the area even if there was.

In war truth is the first sacrifice.

I guess it will all come down to the evidence.

On take-off and didn't clear the airfield perimeter? Load shift? There is previous.

Posted in Stars and Stripes:
"The cause of the crash is under investigation. A senior official at the Pentagon said Friday the aircraft hit a ground object as it was ascending, lost control and crashed into a guard tower at the end of the air field. Afghan civilians in the guard tower were killed in the ensuing fire, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity."

NBC news (misnomer there) cited engine failure with a caveat that they weren't sure whether it occurred before or after striking the ground object.
