According to twitter runway 26 is closed at Orly as Air Algerie flight AH004 has gone off piste and into the grass. The aircraft is 7T-VJW (A330)

It appears something happened whilst using the high speed exit, and the nose went into the grass. Heavy braking left dark skid marks so they tried to prevent it.

The skid mark reminds me of the A340 that climbed the wall at TLS..

I flew in and out of ORY yesterday using runway 20 so I got a good view of the A/C. Its in a strange position as the high speed exit leaves to the right but the aircraft is almost parallel with the runway. I would say its close to 45 degrees off centerline from the runway exit as you can make out in the pic.

Must have been one hell of a skid if they did skid but I would say there might be something mechanical behind this incident.

Too fast?

An interesting site that this one:

http://www.ssliaorly.fr/crbst_32.html

"Un A330 Air Algérie s'immobilise dans l'herbe après s'être posé en 26 lundi 16 février 2015"

SSLIA means (okay it's a little bit pompous...) :
Service de sauvetage et de lutte contre l'incendie des aéronefs.
In short: Rescue Service. (Airport fire brigade).
This site (in French) is dedicated to the fire brigade actions at Orly.
They have taken a lot of pictures of the aircraft and some are interesting.
The aircraft was finally towed back late in the night as you can see. One picture shows the path of the aircraft because of the visible tyres traces. It seems that the crew quickly realized they were a bit fast and strongly applied the breaks immediately on W35. It looks like they steered to much on the right and almost put the right MLG in the grass and sharply corrected to the left trying to join the centreline but because of the speed they could not do it. Some kind of Mambo.
Looks like a late touchdown.
