SWISS LX 87 substantial damage in Montreal 08.06.2013

Brand new aircraft...

JACDEC
During taxi-out from the southern side of the international terminal to the departure runway, the right wing hit a passenger transfer vehicle which was standing within its marked parking area between gate 60 and 61. The wingtip, and outer 2 meters of the right wing received substantial damage in the collision. The uplifted passenger vehicles also sustained major damage. there were no information about any injured persons. The A330 is expected to remain grounded for repairs for a longer time.
NOTE: It appears flight LX 87 had used the lane closest to the terminal whereas Montreal (CYUL) Airport has issued a taxi reglementation instructing all pilots to use the centre line in that area. "Aircraft with wingspan of 36m (118') or more, must taxi in centre lane only".

Taxi lanes

Often, in congested airports, 2 narrow-bodies can taxi opposite each other in the space that can accommodate only 1 wide-body. In the case at SFO, the center (wide-body) lane is diamond-marked, and the other lanes are the east and west lane.

will give you an idea of what it looks like

From imagery, it appears that the center lane here is also marked with a diamond or similar, and that the area in question is about the only area at YUL where there are two lanes...
