Post Avro launch RJ-XXX

Despite the current downturn in the global Airline industry BAe have pressed ahead with the launch of their latest product, the Avro RJ-XXX. Built upon the success of the RJ100, this latest whisper jet offers enhanced range and an increased seating capacity of around 150 (depending upon customer configuration requirements) to match the B737-400 series. BAe have said they believe that the introduction of the first 6-engine jet of the 21st century will capture the publics' imagination and lead to a greater confidance in airline travel.

It reminds me of an alleged conversation at an ALPA meetings many years ago.

One senior captain said that his idea of heaven would be if the co-pilot told him number 4 engine had failed, and he was able to reply "On which side ?"

I just sincerely hope those 6 engines won't produce drag instead of thrust as on their previous models!
It's a sucks being slowed behind a 14-sick for 120 odd miles.

Cool

Not April The First already?

The phrase 'whisper jet' can not, IMHO, be used to describe the new RJX.
Now the hairdryers have been replaced, it is bl**dy noisy.

The residents around LCY are going to have to speak up a bit

Is that 225 the upped in MPH or KPH (unlikely to be Knots as it'll never get off the ground).
PS just read Neville Shute's No Highway, and the a/c in that had six engines

Cool

Hmmm Somethings wrong with that picture ...the aircraft doesn't appear to have a tail skid! Or are the manufacturers assuming it will have lost it on its first rotation!!

Ahhh is this what the BAR board mean by the term "second generation Regional jet" to replace those A319,s or 737's.

Might be a bit big! May struggle with those BHX cross winds; or has April the first come early?????????????????????????

Graphic (if you'll excuse the pun) evidence that there really is a God in heaven who will grant all wishes if one prays hard enough.
