What a pity.

There are still at least two of these marvellous aeroplanes operating in the UK with Atlantic Airlines. They are maintained at Coventry. I have been working in an office at Coventry for six months and so far have seen a landing and some engine runs but yet to be there for a take-off which must be magnificent.

There are also a couple of Electras in bits at Coventry. Maybe they can supply parts to Buffalo (I guess operators of such rare types stay in touch).

Sorry, this probably belongs in a spotters areas but the Electras are so exciting.

Buffalo did actually purchase an Electra from Atlantic Airlines, I Beleive it still needs engines tho, It was on one of the shows when Mikey came over with Joe to have a look at it.

I believe they bought two, ferried one then sent the engines back to ferry the second, hence why one is awaiting engines.

Freshly repaired Electra G-LOFC has spent the last few hours flying circuits at Coventry. It's been a joy to see and I hope the second one (G-LOFE) is repaired again soon as well.

As far as I can tell from working in an office at Coventry for the last few months, these are the only two left flying here but I am prepared to be wrong.

Air test and base check after extensive maintainance and repair, 'FE to follow into the hangar now.

Only two Electras operating outside N America - if you are lucky on a weekend, you may see both of them at Bournemouth.

Long may it continue, but the "real airplanes" are slowly disappearing...VC-10 only has 6 months or so to go, Electras won't last forever, only a dozen Jetstars still flying now...
