Rakesh Gangwal has resigned from his position as President and Chief Executive Officer of US Airways Group, Inc. and US Airways, Inc. The Wolfman will reassume the position of Chief Executive Officer at both companies.

Analysts are seeing this as a bad sign for the company.
Gangwal was seen as the "road to independence" man whereas Wolf is seen as someone whose only goal is to sell the company and/or its assets.
Perhaps Gangwal lost a power struggle as to the future of USAir.
Interesting to see what happens in the next few months.

Given their performance over the past few years I would think it is time to clean house and overhaul all senior management. US Airways needs to concentrate on making money and not on trying to sell off the assets. If you cannot make money flying planes you should not be in the airline business!
