"Finnair fights for survival"
According to CEO Keijo Suila, "Finnair is fighting for its survival" and the times of beauty contests are over.
At the same time Finnair has applied for a honorary councellor (?) title for its CEO. Now this application has been approved and the airline pays about $40,000 as reguired taxes for the title.
Just one week ago CEO Suila informed the media about big quarterly financial losses and already before that launched a savings program intended to reach annual savings of about $600 million. This by furloughs, salary cuts etc...
Hah, sounds funny! At first, why would anyone be so childish that really appreciates any honorary titles. Secondly, does that improve moral within the company? Thirdly, doesn't the CEO himself have the money needed?
