Post Boeing Gets Approval For Highspeed Internet Access On Its Aircraft.

Boeing has now obtained approval from the United States Communications Authority to go ahead with its plan to equip aircraft with high-speed Internet access.

With the new service, users will be able to stay connected for business and personal purposes, exchange real-time e-mail and access new sources of entertainment and news while in the air.

It is expected to cost travellers around US$20 to US$25 an hour and is already available to the US private business jet market.

The system, which requires a special antenna, will now be installed on commercial airliners, following this approval.
