Pan Am buying more B727's
SpeedNews is reporting that Pan Am is in negotiations to acquire up to 24 B727-200 presently owned by UAL and in storage at Victorville. CA.

I heard that they're going to start a Latin American operation, probably based in Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic.
The reason being, of course, that these 72's can't be used in the states past 2004(?) I believe.
They're still going to keep their Portsmouth, NH US operations.

An outfit called Lineas Aereos Puertoriccenses (there's no way I got that right !) recently filed with DoT for a SJU-MIA license. Could they be one and the same ?
