Arresting remarks
11/11/01 Two high-ranking BHP Proprietary Ltd executives were removed by West Australian Police from a QF flight from Sydney which arrived in Perth mid-evening. One of these passengers is alleged to have made a remark to the effect that "We'll be taking over this flight in 20 minutes" Police boarded the flight on its arrival and removed the two passengers concerned for further questioning. Surely people in their position should know better than to make the alleged comments.

That's the Stupid Tendency for you. Even now, post 11/9, smart-arse comments to security are seen as clever by a few people. With any luck, they will have a few months to reconsider their views.

We had to bar someone from boarding on 13th September when his reply to the security question of 'what's in your bag?, was 'a bomb'.. I gather he spent a few hours talking to SB.

At Houston(IAH) last week, I can't remember the exact words, but we were advised by public announcement against making "inappropriate remarks or jokes" to the security staff!
